Vybz Kartel smack down Ninjaman at Sting 2003

Yesterday, Sting 2003 the self-defined " Greatest one night reggae event on Earth" took place in Jamworld, Portmore, St. Catherines, Jamaica and celebrated it's 20th Anniversary with a massive lineup of classic and upcoming artistes.
Sting is well-known for new trends to be set for the upcoming year, legendary shows, Dj Clashes, crowd flinging bottles at the artistes and always good for quite some surprises to shock even the rudest reggaefans amongst us..
This years casualties include stolen streaming equipment, people (including artistes) with cuts all over resulting from an all out bottle throwing outrage, shooting, Ninjaman bleeding from a smack by upcoming artiste Vybz Cartel and even more leaving us with the question: Where will this all lead to?

So what happened this time at Sting, ya'll asking?!
So here's a quick sum-up of the most interesting thing happening this year..
After some stageshows Queen Paula came up to war, calling out for Lady Saw, Spice, Cecile - virtually any female artist to take it. Macka took the bait and got mash up quick by Queen Paula.

Quite a bit later Sanchez was said to simply havin' dunn deh place with niceness, anyway, the bottle party started here already with some warmup-bottles. First artist to really get showered by bottles was Frankie Paul, together with Gentleman from Germany and DYCR later on. So much about first casualties but what already started with violent tendencies should explode in some sudden outbreak..

The show continued with some impressive show by "Energy God" Elephan Man playing without band but backed by CD's only as the top downside of his show. Maybe 2003's Topnotch Vybz Kartel did a show that simply bun dung di place. He started calling out for Ninjaman, a thing that already got prepared over the past weeks on Jamaica. No Ninja appeared so Vybz left di stage as Ninja finally came up, talkin' to the crowd and gettin' bottles in return. Vybz re-appeared backed by ranks from the Alliance and picking di microphone off Ninja with the crowd going wild again. The rest just happened within seconds: Ninja started pushing Vybz, Kartel responding in smacking down Ninja Tyson-stylee. Ninja as a result from hit and some kicks bleeding from nose and mouth simply gone madd. The Gorgon, for sure deeply insulted by that attack swore to go after Vybz and take him out sooner or later. Vybz disappeared with the Alliance, followed up by Beenie who had a hard time to cool down the people as all hell started to break loose soon after, as headliner Bounty Killer was said to already have left the event already.

An all out war started with bottles and gunfire this time, people ambushing the VIP-Area, trying to rip off the streaming equipment. The streams - so far supplied through CVM TV - suddenly went offline as a result.

So, we at cla.at are asking ourselves: "Wha go happen inna Dancehall 2004?".
