The Scrucialists - All the Way

"The Scrucialists" the backup-band for swiss singjay Phenomden is probably nearly as famous in switzerland as germanys probabably most often-booked backing band, the "Far East Band". In contradiction to Far East, The Scrucialists are now about to present their first own album featuring a lot of well-known jamaican but also not so well-known german and swiss artists.

The Scrucialists have established themselves in Switzerland for many years now, not only as the backing band for upcoming swiss reggae-star Phenomden and famous artists like Lady Saw and Ward21 on their tours, but also as a competent team of producers. Within their upcoming release they bundle not only their latest collabos, but also tunes of their idols of the past 15 years, such as Burro Banton & Pinchers, Luciano and a lot more of other artists.

The CD itself contains a well-balanced melange of Swiss/German and Jamaican reggae artists as well. On the jamaican side there are such artists as Luciano, Mykal Rose, Burro Banton & Pinchers, Ward 21, Turbulence, Lutan Fyah, Half Pint and Lukie D representing, for the swiss/german league there are well-known names such as Dr. Ring Ding, Lion Face and Phenomden.

Tunes that deserve special attention would be "Catch up di Fire", "Carribean Queen", "Use Force", "Africa" and probably Lukie D.´s "What do you like". We would like to pay very special attention from Ginjah´s "Unification". Overall - as expected - a nice release with no downers, that you probably wouldn´t expect from a swiss label/production team.
