Roots Reggae lovers can again celebrate the availability of wonderful releases by independent artists and labels striving to provide alternatives to the toxic airwaves we are bombarded with. Mt. Nebo Records is honored to make available for purchase the brand new releases, "Crucial Reggae Vol. 2" (Various Artists) and "Healing" by Malika Madremana.

Skank Productions recently released "Crucial Reggae Vol. 2", a super compilation that celebrates and brings focus to outstanding reggae artists from different parts of the world. If you missed the dynamic Vol. 1 in 2004, you can take comfort in knowing that Vol. 2 maintains the standard of Vol. 1, but expands on the scope and quality of this series. Vol. 2. expands geographically to now include artists from Ghana, Canada, Trinidad and St. Lucia. There are also great appearances by artists from the U.S.A, the Virgin Islands, St. Vincent and Dominica just as Volume 1 had. The Beat Magazine, Jahworks.org, Creation Steppin' Radio and several other organizations have all rated "Crucial Reggae Vol. 2" as a "great album." Some of the artists include Rocky Dawuni, Nasio Fountaine, Groundation, Bambu Station, Innervision, Ossie Dellimore and several other outstanding artists. "Crucial Reggae Vol. 2" is just that, "crucial" and worth every bit of your attention.

Just as solid and representative of reggae from around the world at it's best is the debut album from Malika Madremana, "Healing". This empress represents an effort to make a way; to show a path and make a difference in the music we all love and the communities we live in. This Puerto Rican singer debuts here with "Healing" which she executive produced and had mixed by the legendary engineer Scientist. Several songs jump out as favorites and settles any listener down into the groove that is strictly roots. Malika offers very, very heartical tunes like "The Blood," "Virtuous Woman," "Jah Riddim," "Psalms 144" and the title track. She continues to be in great demand by well known artists for her great harmonies, voice and professionalism, but as a solo artist she recently rocked the Dreadstock Festival in Vallejo, CA. Welcome Malika as she now opens her door to bring more "Healing".
