Phenomden out of Switzerland surprises with a strong debut release: "
Fang Ah", which is distributed in Germany via
Rootdown Records. The big surprise is the fact that "schwyzerdeutsch" (swiss german) seems to be just as qualified for doing good reggaemusic as german or french are nowadays, apart from the original patois sound out of jamaica.

Equipped with the latest riddims from Switzerland and Germany, this lyrical pioneer is ready to take over maybe not only the European dancehalls. This record definitely has an authentic reggaevibe and is a real nice listening experience, not only for the german-speaking audience. It starts with the high-praised "
Crystal Woman" Riddim from Rootdown Producer
TeKa, where
Phenomden chants "
Jetz isch ziit" ("Now it's time"). Time for this swiss artist to spread his vibes on more uplifting tunes like "
Wänn lärnemer", which uses the "
Truth" Riddim from
Kingstone Productions, Cologne - or on the personal "
Wie Dike", in which he sings about his home quarter in Switzerland, professionally voicing a roots riddim from
Silly Walks Productions. But also swiss producers worked with this talented young singer: the riddim for "
Sunshine" was recorded by the
Townnet Crew, in which we can hear the musician Phenomden also on bass, and the song "
Cha Nüt Defür" - a production from The Swiss
Ganglords on their "
Bonx It" riddim, which also has been Phenomden's debut single. The complete release "
Fang ah" is a really solid, swiss quality product, one that could be compared to a swiss clockwork - convincing, but not only accurate in terms of rhythm: with it´s special linguistic feature this album also comes as a very tasty mixture just like the chocolate out of Switzerland, and so it truly stands out from other german reggae releases.
