Even though we heard quite a good amount of really good mixes lately, there is always the one or other that you´ll play over and over again and probably never become fed up of. One good example of those is Basstone Soundcontrols´ "Hard Times - The Finest in Roots and Culture" Mix-CD with all essential tunes and riddims.

It seems to become a trend within german soundsystems to have a DJ who´s also voicing records and as with Lazy Youth from Kingstone Sound and even more recently with Culture Rocks Manu Rankin. Bass Tone bring in their own promising MC Likkle T who was currently nominated as best upcoming german DJ and who appears in the intro and on his own tune "All People on PowPow´s Superior Riddim.

Within the overall 52 tracks you´ll find dubs from Gentleman, Elijah Prophet, Utan Green and Rebellion the Recaller and the list of riddims reads like the ultimate who-is-who of todays roots´n culture riddims as you´ll none less than: Superior, Roots Tonic, Security, Jamrock, Hard times, First born, Handcart boy, One for the road, Fifth element, Bushfire, Drop leaf, PowPows Blaze, Take a ride and No warrior Riddims, extremely well mixed with nice and decent effects over a lengths of 78mins.

This mix is my personal recommendation for this late summer from the german soundsystem camp! Not only that but it is professionally mastered and manufactured, comes with full color, printed cover and cd-inlay. Make sure to listen to the 12min mp3 snippet and decide on your own if you want to spend 8,49 EUR on something that´s more than worth being part of everyone´s collection..
